May iPsy Bag: Beauty’s Fresh Picks

Hello Saturday everyone! How are ya’ll doing? I hope you’re ready for yet another iPsy post. Yep, it’s been a month already. Here we go, May iPsy Bag.

This month’s bag is called Beauty’s Fresh Picks and all five products are so Spring/Summer friendly. As mentioned, I received five products that were customized to fit my profile. So what I received differs from you or the next person. This month, I would have love to receive the Boo Boo Cover Up Concealer, derma e Microdermabrasion Scrub, Hey Honey Take It Off! Exfoliating Honey Peel Off Mask, Mee Beauty Bee Nourished Night Cream, Nailtini Straight Up Nail Lacquer, Olive Natural Beauty Olive Lip Balm, Pur~lisse Pur~moist Hydra Balance Moisturizer OR the one item I looked forward to receiving most, Swissco Electroplated Eyelash Curler. But of course each bag can only receive four or five so getting everything was impossible. I do like all of my products though. And they would be…

Any iPsters that received the Pacifica Mineral Eyesahdow Duo either got Duo #1 (Celestial & Opal) or Duo #2 (Moonbeam & Unicorn). Duo #2 has a deep purple and an off white, pearly shade so I am especially glad I received Duo #1, which I think is easier to work with. When i’m testing out new eyeshadows, I tend to enjoy receiving or buying warmer, neutral shades rather than cool, darker ones; I think they’re more forgiving even if the shadows were a flop. I really don’t know what to expect from these eyeshadows… I enjoy Pacifica‘s body butter, which I was lucky enough to have received in past iPsy bags. Although I did initially claim that there was nothing special in particular with their body butters. As of now I still think so…but I do have to mention also that their scents are AMAZING! I have, I think three of their body butters and each one smells heavenly! So I have concluded that their body butters are quite awesome for a drug store brand.

As for their eyeshadows, bad first impression. The lid broke off as soon as I opened it. It was nothing major though because I was able to put it back together but every time I open it the lid would come off. The packaging is very cheap. The shadows themselves look quite lovely. I haven’t swatched them yet so I don’t know how well they apply or shows up. It’ll be a total surprise using it for the first time, which will probably happen today as I have another family gathering to attend. Having my fingers crossed!

I will never complain when it comes to receiving a Too Faced product. I love their stuff so much! First off, they have one of the cutest packaging in the market, their products smells soooooo good and their quality is two thumbs up. They’re high end brand so of course they’re a little pricey, but you get what you pay for…majority of the time.

I received the deluxe sample of the Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer. I already own this in the regular size and I love it so much. I can’t bring myself to use it everyday though. $30 is a little expensive for an everyday bronzer. I do use it however, for special occasions or every now and then. This is my ultimate favorite high end bronzer, hands down. It’s also my Top 3 favorite bronzers overall. Quick fact, this bronzer is made from real cocoa powder so you can only imagine how delicious it smells like…Yeah..

Since I already own and used this product before, I will save my commentary for my Update post. The one I own, I got maybe a year ago so the formula might have changed. I’ll use the new one and maybe do a comparison so please stay tuned.

I am SUUUPPPER excited to finally try the Avene Thermal Spring Water. I’ve long heard of this Thermal Spring Water floating around the make up world but I was always hesitant in actually making a purchase. Much to my relief, I can finally try it out to see what the fuss is all about.

“Spray onto the skin in a fine mist. May leave on for 2 to 3 minutes, and then gently pat dry. Ideal for use after cleansing, shaving, exercise, sun, to soothe diaper rash and set make-up to help keep it fresher looking longer.”  

I will definitely put this to the challenge by using it as a setting spray, after cleansing, exercising and coming in from the sun. I went through pages and pages of reviews and each one had some similarities. Skeptical at first and loving it after using it. I’ll start using this today, as a setting spray.

I will never turn down a hair mask, especially in this hot Arizona weather. This time around, iPsy threw at us Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask. This will also be a first time trying out this brand too.  I already have a favorite everyday conditioner I use, but I’ll give this a go as a trial conditioner. Who knows, I might end up liking this better.

“The Therapy Session Hair Mask deeply conditions, repairs and strengthens dry and damaged hair. Argan Oil nourishes and revitalizes, while Keravis Protein drastically increases hair’s strength and elasticity. The results are hydrated, soft and manageable hair. 

To Use: Use either as a weekly treatment or an everyday conditioner. In either case apply generously to the hair, wait 2-5 minutes and rinse thoroughly.”

My hair is already strong and healthy, nor is it dried or damage so I will use this only expecting it to keep my hair silky and shiny. Quick note, it smells amazing!

When it comes to sunscreen, I usually don’t venture and try new brands. I stick to what I know works and works for my skin which has been Neutrogena, Coppertone and Banana Boat for the longest of times. I wasn’t especially excited to find this Hang Ten in my bag, but hey, since it’s here, might as well give it a go. I received the deluxe sample…or it could be a travel size, I’m not sure, but it is a size that is definitely travel friendly. I really don’t have much to say as of now about a sunscreen I have yet to try… So I will get back with you in a couple of weeks.

Alright, I am about to leave for a family gathering/BBQ. I hope you don’t mind an early posting.
